The billing of the World Cup as the biggest sporting event on the planet is evidenced by the fact that the expected viewership is 5 billion over the tournament, surpassing the 3.5 billion viewers who tuned into the event four years ago in Russia.

When France defeated Croatia in the 2018 World Cup Final, over 1 billion viewers tuned in to watch the game. By comparison, the NFL Super Bowl draws an average of 100 million viewers worldwide.

Favorites for the 2022 World Cup

Favorites for the 2022 World Cup

This World Cup promises to be the most open tournament yet with a number of teams capable of winning but we have selected our top three with the reasons on why we fancy them.

1. Brazil

Brazil are favourites to lift the World Cup at present and the world No.1 team in the FIFA rankings. There can be no disputing the talent at their disposal, with the likes of Neymar, Alisson and Casemiro being the star players in the squad.

They’ve led the way in Conmebol qualifying, topping the group and avoiding defeat in all of their games. In fact, they’ve lost just one of their last 15 competitive games, with their sole loss coming against Argentina in the Copa America final.

The country, of course, has pedigree at the World Cup, too. They’ve hosted the competition twice and lifted the trophy five times, more than any other nation and would love to add another to their tally.

2. Argentina

Argentina had a poor showing at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, manager Jorge Sampaoli was sacked, and replaced with ex-international player Lionel Scaloni.

The turnaround as a result has been incredible. The new and improved team have gone unbeaten in over three years and won their first Copa America since 1993 and the 2022 Finalissima.

Victory for Argentina will be a perfect farewell to one of the greatest ever players Lionel Mess.

3. France

France are the current holders of the World Cup, winning the trophy for the second time by beating Croatia 4-2 in 2018. Their qualifying campaign for the 2022 World Cup saw them go unbeaten, as they topped Group D ahead of Ukraine.

France have one of the most talented squads coming into the competition with Mbappe, Griezmann and Benzema all expected to star in Qatar.

Top Scorers Favourites

If we look at the best top scorer predictions out there we will find some familiar names. All bookies agree that Harry Kane is a favourite to win the Golden Boot. Since he won it last time, history could be made in Qatar. He can become the first player to ever win this trophy twice.

However, he will be challenged by some of the best players in the world. Bookies put Kylian Mbappe right behind Kane as the 2nd favourite. Karim Benzema is a possible candidate while Neymar, Lukaku, and Memphis Depay are on the list as well.

The best players in football history are candidates for the Golden Boot too. Qatar 2022 might be the last World Cup in which we see Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo competing. They might be growing old but both of them have enough quality to bring this trophy home.

If Argentina and Portugal make it far in the tournament, both players may challenge for the most coveted individual reward in football.

Top Assistants Favourites

Kevin De Bruyne is undoubtedly one of the best playmakers in the football world at present.  He has been an elite midfielder for over 5 years now and seeing the support that he has at the Belgium National Team, there is no doubt in the fact that with the right assistance from Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, and Co, he might get the highest assists in the tournament to his name.

Lionel Messi is not just a goal scoring machine but is among the best when it comes to playmaking even at the age of 35 and he is the 2nd highest assist provider in the history of FIFA World Cup with 6 assists to his name. He has the golden opportunity of becoming number 1 by overtaking Pele if he gets 5 more assists this year and by doing so he will also most definitely become the highest assist provider of FIFA World Cup 2022 as well.

How to choose the bookie for World Cup betting

How to choose the bookie

The FIFA World Cup represents a golden opportunity for punters to bet on a huge number of international games in a short space of time but choosing the right bookie to use is not that easy as there are a multitude of options available. We have listed some of the most important factors to consider before selecting a bookie for the World Cup.

Excellent odds

This is one of the most important criteria as it directly affects your winnings, the better the odds the better the payout. The odds significantly play a role in increasing your payout especially with the accumulator bets.

Promotions

Bookies will most certainly have different betting promotions during the 2022 World Cup. They will offer bonuses on deposits and also offer Bet Boosters on accumulator bets. We will keep you constantly updated on the best bonuses specific to the World Cup.

Numerous deposit methods

Punters must be able to fund their accounts through various online payment services like credit and debit cards and OZOW.

Cash Out and Build a bet feature

The bookies must have features like Cash Out which allows you to cash your ticket before the event is completed.  Build a Bet features allows you to make multiple selections in one football match.

Quality Mobile App or Mobile Version

The FIFA World Cup has plenty of matches taking place at different times. Chances are you’ll not be going to be staying at home for the entirety of it; therefore you have to make sure you’ll have access to betting even on the go.

The Mobile App or mobile version is thus a precious help for any punter interested in being able to bet on the go, no matter where you are.

Pieces of advice for World Cup betting

It is very easy to get carried away with betting on the World Cup as the global showpiece only comes about every four years. It is important to note that betting without any research is very risky. Avoid betting with your heart as this could lead to losses.

Remember that betting on your favourite player’s team will not also have positive results. It is a good idea to place accumulator bets especially on matches where there is a clear favourite as this will increase your chances of winning.

You must have a budget to bet with and avoid exceeding that amount at all cost.

Free Tips for Group stage

Who Will Win

We have made our predictions of who we think will come out on top in each group. We hope this will help when making those Group Winner bets.

Group A

Group A has the host team Qatar, Netherlands, Senegal, and Ecuador. The Netherlands simply have too much talent on all ends to not win their group. They should come out atop this group with little to no issue.

Group B

Group B sees the likes of the USA, Iran, Wales, and England. There should not be too much of a contest in this group as England has the strongest squad in the group. They’re not only candidates to win the group but could certainly make at least the semifinals.

 Group C

The Group C of this year’s FIFA World Cup has the likes of Argentina, Poland, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. Argentina features superstars like Messi, Lautaro, Di Maria, Julián Álvarez and Otamendi.

They’re the world No. 3 ranked team. One of the grittiest and hardest teams to play in the world, Argentina will win this group and are real contenders for the overall title.

Group D

Group D has Australia, France, Tunisia, and Denmark with the defending champions France tipped to advance to the next stages, and Denmark to follow suit as they’ve shown the world the capabilities they possess as a unit.

Group E

Group E has the likes of Spain, Japan, Germany, and Costa Rica. Germany are desperate to prove themselves , after failing to get out of the group stage in the 2018 World Cup and going out in the Round of 16 to the hands of England in the 2020 Euro.

We are tipping them to win the group but will face stiff competition from 2010 winners Spain

Group F

Group F consists of Belgium, Croatia, Canada, and Morocco. This is one of the toughest groups to pick a winner.

We have to give Belgium the top spot because of their quality on the ball and they have arguably the best midfielder in Kevin De Bruyne.

Group G

Group G has Brazil, Cameroon, Serbia, and Switzerland. The obvious favourite to win this group is Brazil as they are tipped to lift the overall title. All the competition in this group will be for second place.

Group H

Group H sees the likes of Portugal, Ghana, the Korean Republic, and Uruguay. The clear favourite side is the Cristiano Ronaldo-captained Portuguese team.

They will however face serious competition from the Uruguayan side.
